1947 After many years as a 15 minute daily serial, Jack Armstrong, the
All American Boy, was heard for the first time as a 30 minute feature on
ABC. Remember, if you want to grow up to be big and strong like Jack
Armstrong, keep these three rules in mind: Get plenty of sleep, fresh
air and exercise. Make a friend of soap and water, because dirt breeds
germs and germs can make people sickly and weak. And for sound
nourishment and keen flavor, eat a big bowlful of Wheaties, the
Breakfast of Champions, with plenty of milk or cream and some type of fruit.

1950 - The summer replacement for "Suspense", titled "Somebody Knows",
was heard for the final time on radio. The program offered a reward of
$5,000 ($47,047 in 2012 dollars) for information that led to the solving
of crimes. "Somebody Knows" began with the introduction, "You out there.
You, who think you have committed the perfect crime -- that there are no
clues, no witnesses -- listen. Somebody knows."

Hello, G Mercer here. I was the one selected to get the reel to reel tapes
offered free by the Historical Society in Morehead, MN a short time ago.
To keep it short, the 125 or so tapes are in great condition - no squeels,
etc., and contain a mixture of programs which audio is very good plus on most
everything.
Anyone that wants them, can email me - I will NOT SHIP them anywhere, but
someone that comes to Alexandria, MN is welcome to them
