One forthcoming book that caught my eye is "The Casebook of Gregory Hood"
by Anthony Boucher and Denis Green. I hadn't thought that series had a
literary origin. Does anybody know if they also churned out Gregory Hood
stories based on their scripts? Or is this possibly a collection of
radio scripts?

Kermyt:

I asked Doug Greene, head of Crippen & Landru

be the person most likely to know. Here's his reply:

Kermyt is correct about the "most likely outcome." We have permission to
publish the best of the "Gregory Hood" scripts and Joe Christopher is
putting them in shape for the typesetter, as well contributing a detailed
introduction.

Was this concert actually aired? I don't hear anything on the recording to

Subject: Organist Korla Pandit

In reading the births of September 16th, I was very sorry to learn that
radio organist Korla Pandit passed away a few years ago. He was an
excellent organist who appeared on television in a turban, years after he
played the organ on radio on "Chandu the Magician". I especially liked the
loud organ-banging in the background, as Howard Culver excellently delivered
the commercials for White King Soap. (By the way, White King was a real
soap, not a detergent.)

As Ron Sayles notes in parentheses, Korla Pandit's real name was Juan
Rolando. His birthplace is listed as New Delhi, India. According to my
friend, fellow organist Bob Mitchell (Bob Mitchell Boys' Choir) who knew him
quite well, Juan Rolando was not really from India but was an Hispanic born
in the United States. Can anyone settle this? Was he really from India?

Subject: Trying to find a show date

I have a recording of a 1930s show called Calling All Cars. I am trying to
find a date for this show.

It concerns an ex-bootlegger who kills a cop in a gambling joint. The
killer's name was Rogan.

The show has to be after February 8, 1935, since that is the date mentioned
as the execution day for the killer.

The show must have been aired in the springtime since the ads for Rio Grande
gasoline are urging listeners to have their cars readied for the coming
summer.

The log I have seen for 1935, 36, 37, 38 and 39 do not mention a show title
that seems to fit this description. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks.

Hi, everyone out there in Radioland! Do any of you collectors have any of
the "Carolina Cotton Calls" radio shows. I've heard one and it was great.
>From what I have been able to find out, the 15 minute show ran from
1952-1954, was an Armed Forces Radio Show, and originated in Hollywood.

Carolina Cotton was a yodeling Western Swing star from the late 1940's

radio, Western movies, and early television. She worked with Spade Cooley,
Bob Wills, and many others.

Well I've got to say Martin did a great job this past weekend with
his convention. I had a great time even though I spent almost all
of it behind the camera. But it did give me a chance to hear all the talks

Those of you that picked up an order form at the convention need to
go or website for the update. Several speakers did not show up at a
couple asked not to be recorded.

By the time you read this all of the correction should be on the new
order form which you can find at [removed]

Just click on the icon that says conventions and you'll find the
order form for the mid-Atlantic Nostalgia convention along with order
forms for the FOTR conventions.

The above was entered by using a microphone. I recently purchased or
rather upgraded Dragon NaturallySpeaking software and I was is trying
out the software to see how it worked writing an e-mail or in this
case writing an e-mail to the digest. It's kind of fun just sitting
back here speaking and watching my words appear on the screen and
only occasionally having to go in and make a correction. Although I
use to type somewhere between 40 and 50 words per minute without
errors I'm finding that occasionally I leave out words that I thought
I had typed so this is possibly more accurate
