Folks;
First off, let me apologize for not getting more posted regarding last
week's Friends of Old-Time Radio Convention to the Nostalgic Rumblings blog
at [removed] ...just as while I was at the con I never
seemed to be organized enough to have time for posting, this week has been
busy and convoluted as well. I'm working on finding the time to post some
pics and additional thoughts, honest.
A few people who were at the convention asked me about the photos of Hal
Stone that ran before the comedy panel. The moderator, Derek Tague, asked me
if I could put together some pics of Hal to be used as a tribute to him, and
it was impossible for me to refuse. Some people have asked for copies of the
short piece, and so I include it on the blog in Flash format (there's a
player right on the blog entry) so those who were there, and those who
weren't, can see it. Just go to the blog at the URL listed [removed] may
need to scroll down depending on when you see this note.

performers played the part when Donna died giving birth. Myrt and Marge

R. R. King posted two clippings about the 1930 Armistice eve program of the
Great Northern Railway's "Empire Builders" series, presented from the
Chicago Studios of the NBC at the Merchandise Mart.
In order to set the proper battle
effects for the war-time story to be dramatized, two machine
guns were mounted on the roof of the building outside the NBC
studios, and fired volley upon volley of blank cartridges in order
to feed the actual noise of the firing into the microphones.
Why didn't they just ask Al Copone?????????
