This pertains to Groucho on the radio. I did not need to sign in to read
it, but I do not know how long it will be up.

This low-budget indie is a real turkey, but it's a good opportunity
to see Spike Jones and his City Slickers, with Red Ingle doing
"Glow-Worm."

Subject: Re: H. Copland Robinson Jr.

Along with my colleague Jim Cox, I'm saddened to hear of Cope's passing.
Although I never met him face-to-face, he was a tremendous help to me during
the writing of MY NAME'S FRIDAY.

In mid-1949, when Liggett & Myers became disenchanted with the ratings
performance of CBS's "Tales of Fatima," it was Cope in his role of account
exec for L&M's then-agency, Newell-Emmett, who directed the client to NBC's
"Dragnet," with his personal recommendation as the most desirable program on
the market. After about a year, Cope went to work directly for L&M and was
involved with many of their big OTR accounts: Godfrey, Crosby, Hope,
"Gunsmoke" and "Dragnet." He wasn't one to spontaneously tell tales of his
experiences, but whenever I asked him about a specific event, his
recollections were enormously valuable.

We had recently become Facebook friends. I'll miss him.
