Scott Harding was asking if there were more of these in circulation.
Not sure about that, but those wanting to sample the show can often find
them being broadcast at WAMU:

In response to Scott Hardings email, there are 26 Edward R Murrow recordings
of Hear It Now available that I know of. I enjoy these recordings, and got
mine on MP3. The MP3's that I got are so much better than a lot of MP3's
that I have heard. I got them at _[removed]_
([removed]) .
To change the subject, which I am not sure is allowed since I am mostly a
lurker on this list, I understand that Ed Walker of the Joy Boys is going to
be
at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention next month. Does anyone know where
I can get some of these recordings?
Thanks.

[ADMINISTRIVIA: While I'm not normally a fan of promoting MP3 dealers (most
of them are leeches who simply download from USENET and resell someone else's
encodes instead of actually doing anything for the hobby), this particular
company is controlled by a long-time hobbiest/dealer and producer of WAMU's
Big Broadcast. --cfs3]

Subject: otr inventory freeware
You can get a small and powerful otr inventory software program at
[removed]
It was designed specifically for inventorying all media types of otr. There
is even a manual there in pdf.
I use it all the time and it works great. I was able to convert my previous
inventories on excel files into it's database as well.
There is a step by step guide on how to do that on the website as well. Worth
checking out.

[ADMINISTRIVIA: When mentioning software, _please_ list the operating systems
the software operates under, so I don't need to dig the information out and
aappend it here. This particular software is Java-based, which means it
should (but is not guaranteed to) operate on any operating system that can
run Sun's Java intepreter (or JIT compiler). --cfs3]

Subject: Greatest Radio Programs in American History
I was thinking about the all time most important programs in radio history
after a teacher called and asked me: these were my picks;
1.) Marconi's test broadcast from the Carolina Outer Banks
2.) Almost any late '20's/early '30's Amos and Andy--establishing the sheer
power of the medium.
3.) The War of the Worlds--ditto
4.) On A Note Of Triumph--radio's greatest writer with an impossibly talented
cast
5.) The Fall of the City--an example, as John Houseman might have said, of
what sustaining radio could do.

Subject: Ray Wencil
I'm a new member of the list, and I was wondering whether anyone
remembers Ray Wencil. I believe he had a radio program that was an
off-shoot of Al Pearce's show, for which my father wrote around 1947.
I've yet to find any information on Wencil. I'd be curious to know
what happened to him, and whether any of his shows have survived. I
have a CD of Pearce's shows from OTR, though I don't know what
ultimately happened to him either.
Thanks for any assistance that members can provide.
