My vote would go to Bob Burchett, the founder of the
Cincinnati Old-Time Radio and Nostalgia Convention,
and the publisher of the Old-Time Radio Digest (the
print one, of course) which I believe is the longest
running OTR publication without a club affiliation
(maybe the only one now?).

Bob was also a member of the Dave Warren Players and
is a long-time dealer through his company Hello Again
Radio. He's not one of the names most folks think of,
but he's done it all, and done it well.

Actually, this statement is incorrect.

GUNSMOKE Did Not Repeat episodes during it Prime-Time broadcast schedule.
However, scripts were reused for new productions with dialog and/or
cast/crew changes. (For additional information, see my post
Subject: [Approved: tmW7iTu] RE: Repeating Shows
in The Old-Time Radio Digest Volume 2007: Issue 298.)

Here are the GUNSMOKE episodes that aired around Christmas during its
network run on CBS:
12/20/1952	Xmas Story
12/19/1953	Big Girl Lost
12/26/1953	The Guitar
12/25/1954	Kitty Lost
12/25/1955	Twelfth Night
12/23/1956	Beeker's Barn
12/28/1957	Twelfth Night
12/29/1957	Where'd They Go?
12/21/1958	Where'd They Go?
12/20/1959	Beeker's Barn
12/25/1960	Minnie

The following is additional information regarding the various Christmastime
productions of "Twelfth Night", "Beeker's Barn, and "Where'd They Go?".

TWELFTH NIGHT
12/25/1955	Twelfth Night
Guest Cast:
John Dehner, Vic Perrin, and Helen Kleeb.

12/28/1957	Twelfth Night
Guest Cast:
John Dehner, Virginia Gregg, and Vic Perrin.
New production of the 1955 script. Had dialog changes from previous
production and difference in guest cast.
NOTE:
GUNSMOKE did not air in its prime-time 6:30 PM slot on Sunday, December 22,
1957. It was pre-empted by a presentation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas
Carol" starring Lionel Barrymore. "Twelfth Night" aired at 12:30 PM (ET) on
Saturday, 12/28/1957.

BEEKER'S BARN
12/23/1956	Beeker's Barn
Guest Cast:
Ralph Moody, Vic Perrin, and Virginia Gregg.

12/20/1959	Beeker's Barn
New production of the 1956 script. Had dialog changes from previous
production and differences in guest cast.
Guest Cast:
Joseph Kearns, Vic Perrin, Jeanne Bates, and Jeanette Nolan.
NOTE:
The 1956 production was aired in a 25 minute time slot, the 1959 production
aired in a 30 minute time slot. Many dialog differences between productions
including the opening scenes.
The 1959 production had a longer script with additional scenes, including an
opening scene between Will and Harmony and a scene between Doc, Chester, and
Mrs. Pruddlin, a character who did not appear in the 1956 production.

WHERE'D THEY GO?
Had many dialog differences throughout the two productions starting with the
opening scene conversation between Matt and Chester.

12/29/1957	Where'd They Go?
1957 Opening scene conversation:
CHESTER:	We gonna stop in at the Long Branch for a minute, Mr.
Dillon?
MATT: Yeah, might as well, Chester. There won't be much doin'
around
		town tonight.
CHESTER:	Sure do hope they got a rip-snorting fire goin'.
MATT: Well, that wind has got a nip to it all right.
CHESTER:	And it's gonna blow up worse before mornin'.
MATT: Looks like it.
CHESTER:	Well, I thought Doc might be here, but I don't see him no
place.

12/21/1958	Where'd They Go?
New production of the 1958 script.
1958 Opening scene conversation:
CHESTER:	We gonna stop in at the Long Branch, Mr. Dillon?
MATT: Yeah, might as well. There's not much doin' around town
		tonight.
CHESTER:	Sure do hope they got a rip-snorting fire goin'.
MATT: Yeah, that wind has got a nip to it all right.
CHESTER:	Gonna blow up worse before mornin'.
MATT: It might.
CHESTER: Well, I thought Old Doc might be 'round here, but I don't
see
		him no place.

Signing off for now,

Stewart

I was reading the digest a few moments ago and was completely flattered at
the words my dear friend Dick Fisher had to say about me. Dick, you are a
great friend whose help I have always appreciate at conventions and whose
friendship I will always cherish. (the check is in the mail for the kind
writings! hahaha)
OTR, as all of you know, is my passion and I am still collecting new
material. Unfortunately, everyone wants their OTR on cd's or in mp3 format
now. I am still stubborn and, as my grandkids tell me, in the stone age of
cassettes. I figure with the over 22,500 cassettes I already have it would
take the rest of my life to transfer it all into the "new age format" and
that would take away any time from the new material I am still
finding. Flipping the coin I chose to keep finding new stuff instead of
redoing the old. I will leave the cd's and mp3 to someone else. I have
added over 1000 cassettes of new material this year and will be coming out
with a catalog supplement in January. If anyone is interested in receiving
it just drop me a message and I will be happy to get one out to you.
Again, Dick and everyone else thank you for your kindness and assistance
all of you have been to me.
My best to all, Ted Davenport
