I was so sorry to hear about Charlie's passing. He did so much for OTR's =
legacy, and he will certainly be [removed]
While the OTR Digest is still up and running, I did want to =
announce that in this time of isolation I've finally figured out how to =
produce & direct my old-time radio theatre productions REMOTELY. I'm =
calling it "Online Radio Theatre".
Watch my 1st 20-min. show FREE on YouTube this SUNDAY, DEC 20 @ =
5pm PT: "The Private Lives of Ethel & Albert," by Peg Lynch, the genius =
comedy writer who practically invented the sitcom.
I'm thrilled to be directing three wonderfully-talented veterans =
of the "Jack Benny Program": BEVERLY WASHBURN, STUFFY SINGER, & IVAN =
CURY.
But don't wait till Sunday -- click the link below NOW to go to =
YouTube, and then click the "SUBSCRIBE" button to notified 30 minutes =
before airtime for this and my future "online radio theatre" shows. =
(This is just the first of several I've got in the works. Next up is =
Orson Welles's "The Lives of Harry Lime", based on "The Third Man").
I really hope to see you there! (in the live chat) - Gregg

Wow--Vince, your work on this is fantastic! I am so grateful for you taking
the time to take all of your archives and make them available to us in such an
easily-searched format, and you did it so quickly, too. WELL DONE. This is a
real gift to the rest of us.
My fellow digesters, please check out Vincebs online archive and take it for
a spin. It was really fun to see posts I had made 24 (gulp) years ago.
THANK YOU, Vince!
b"David

I cobbled together a sample project using the 5,000+ issues of the OTR
Digest that I had saved. You can step through, issue by issue, search
using multiple terms, or access by volume/issue. Feel free to check it
out here:

I'm not really planning to make this the final solution since I'm not
interested in maintaining it for the long haul so if someone wants to
replicate and improve it elsewhere I'd be happy to share what I've done
with the database files (sql) and the 5000 issues.
