Subject: Nostalgia Expo

Responding to Charlie's oh, so subtle invitation, here's a rundown on
the upcoming Nostalgia Expo:

Nostalgia Expo 2015 will be held on May 15 & 16 at the Crowne Plaza Blue
Ash in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our special guests this year include: Kathy
Garver, Cissy on TVs Family Affair; Larry Albert, who currently plays
the lead role in Jim French Productions' Adventures of Harry Nile; and
fan favorite and all around nice guy, Ivan Cury who was Mutual Radio's
kid cowboy Bobby Benson back in the day.

Don Ramlow has been feverishly putting together another action packed
rundown of OTR recreations. This year's offerings include: Dragnet,
Suspense, The Fat Man, The Magnificent Montague and Our Miss Brooks.
Don will direct both the featured guests plus a special appearance by
his group from Kalamazoo, All Ears Theatre.

Randy Larson's Chicago Group Players will be back again performing an
episode of The Great Gildersleeve - Engaged to Two Women. (Randy knows
I'm a big Gildersleeve fan and I'm personally looking forward to their
show.)

American Radio Theater will make another appearance as well. This year
we are pleased to be working with a guest director, John Alsedek of Blue
Hours Productions. John has been producing new episodes of SUSPENSE for
the last few years and will direct an original script which he co-wrote
with Dana Perry-Hayes called "Proof in the Pudding".

We'll have our traditional dealers room again as well. Many of our
loyal dealers from years past have signed up to do it again plus we have
a few first timers booked as well.

On the Presentations side we kick things off with our traditional Radio
in the Movies video presentation compiled by Martin Grams. Doug
Hopkinson will give us the story of Jim Hawthorne whom he calls "the
father of free form radio." Katie and Charlie Summers will host two
sessions of Summers Time Live, the first with Kathy Garver and the
Second with OTR author Mel Simons. On Saturday, Joy Jackson will have a
conversation with Larry Albert about his career, Imagination Theatre and
whatever else strikes their fancy. Then Mel Simons will take to the
stage to chat with John Alsedek about his revival of Suspense and what
goes into making new episodes of an OTR classic.

It promises to be a fun filled two days and I fully expect it to retain
the atmosphere of a family reunion where everybody actually likes each
other that has made the Cincinnati convention both successful and unique
for so many years. Admission is still ridiculously low at $15/day and
the hotel is offering a special $93/day room rate if you mention
Nostalgia Expo and Oldtime Radio Convention. (Actually, they still
don't seem to have gotten used to the "Nostalgia Expo" part but if you
mention the oldtime radio [removed] they'll know exactly what you mean.)

More information can be found on our website: [removed]

Join us! I promise I will do my very best to see that you have a
splendid time.

     Mike Wheeler

Just wanted to say thanks for this. It's always nice to have some places to
go for streaming when I'm on the road.

Thanks for posting.
