Subject:  Ed Walker, RIP

Ed Walker, age 83, died of cancer this morning (10-26-15) surrounded by wife
and family. This award-winning radio broadcaster was a linch-pin of
Washington, DC radio for decades. At the time of his death, he was the host
of "The Big Broadcast" weekly on WAMU-FM, playing OTR programs for four
hours. He was also a long-time member of the Metropolitan OTR Club and
steered many local folks to joining this club.

He was well known nationally as the partner of Willard Scott in their "Joy
Boys" radio series that aired for several years in the 50s and 60s. He was
the first blind student accepted at American University and after graduation,
dedicated his life to radio broadcasting. See his obituary at

Funeral arrangements have not been released yet.
