The number of old sports broadcasts that circulate (the OTRR library has
less than a 100!) is very rare when you compare it to the number that were
broadcast. Very few OTR enthusiasts recorded sports broadcasts; Pat Rispole of
Schenectady, New York was one of the few who did and he passed away in 1979. (
The majority of sports radio broadcasts that have been preserved originated
with Pat Rispole) Pat also recruited a few people (Paul Thompson from SF was
one of them) from around the country to tape baseball games by
advertising in
the publication "Hello [removed] After Pat passed away in 1979, his collection
of sports broadcasts were sold to John Miley for $10,000 which is why not very
many of Pat's recordings circulate in the OTR community. John Miley is now 82
but does still sell some of the games from his collection. He does not list
the 1966 Dream World Series for sale but that doesn't mean he doesn't have it
in his collection. I've been told his collection included almost 6,000
recordings Your best bet would be to contact him as maybe Pat recorded it or
John Miley picked up a copy at a late date. Unfortunately, I have not heard of
any other Old Time Radio member who recorded and preserved sports broadcasts.
I did find a mention of the item you were looking for in google books which
has captured an old issue of Life Magazine from 10/7/1966

It does mention in the
article an outfit called Triangle Stations sent out the recordings to 100
cities.

Good luck with your search and let us know if you have any luck.

As Johnny Dollar's expense account has been a recent topic of discussion, I'd
like to remind everyone that the man with the action-packed expense account is
the subject of the Nostalgia Digest Podcast for April, with samples of all of
the actors who played Johnny Dollar on the air--and one who didn't. You can
download it via iTunes or by visiting the Podcast section of
