Just dropping a note that the Cinefest Convention in Syracuse, New York will
be screening one of the INFORMATION PLEASE film shorts produced by RKO. They
are not easy to come by and Turner Entertainment still remains silent about
how many (if not all of them) survive in the vaults. They have never been
screened on TCM to my knowledge. The event is the last weekend of March and I
know there are also a number of old time radio dealers at the event.
The convention web-site is [removed].
Also, yours truly (shameless plug) will be on the local news channel's Sunday
morning program to help promote both the convention and old-time radio in
general, to remind them that old-time radio isn't dead, and is often
recognized in the firm of film and nostalgia festivals. If you live within
Syracuse, come check out the event!

I'm trying to locate the title of a show (Escape? Inner Sanctum? Mysterious
Traveler?) in which the "hero" murders his wife, buries her in a grave under
his garage, and then hears two guys deliver a new car she has bought for him
and park it on top of his exit trap door. It's really too bad, I think, that
the people who wrote the titles for the shows weren't trying as hard as those
who wrote the edpisodes.
Off group responses are okay.

Subject: Sufferin' snakes!
Just received my copy of the new Hornet book (literally 10 minutes ago).
On first scan, it is exactly what I'd hoped for!
The history of the radio show (NOT including the episode listing) covers 280+
pages and the episode listing reports a plot synopsis for some 1,040 episodes
(save for repeats which it identifies with the original broadcast) and
covers, by my hasty count, 300+ pages of priceless (to me at least) data!
Hats off to Messers Grams and Salomonson.
