Thanks for the Sperdvac Convention info. The location is very convenient for me, so I certainly
plan to be there. I've only been enjoying OTR since June 2004, but I'm already a big fan of
Duffy's Tavern, so I am eagerly anticipating the Duffy's recreation. I just hope that whoever
does the "Eddie the Waiter" part keeps Eddie Green's interpretation in mind!

Speaking of which, I've heard a few Duffy's Tavern episodes where "Eddie the Waiter" is NOT played
by Eddie Green. How many other actors had this role and when?

Hi Everybody,

I notice Barbara last post in the OTR digest about the SPERDVAC convention
and wanted to release some more updated news. On the music panel for
Saturday one of the guest is song writer Vic Mizzy. Vic in the 1930s won
first place with his partner on Major Boes, and Fred Allen show. In the
1940s he wrote My Dreams Are Getting Better All The Time which was a big hit
in 1945 for Les Brown and Doris Day. In 1946 Vic had another big hit called
the Hole World is Singing My Song by Les Brown and Doris Day. He wrote the
theme song for TV Atoms Family and Green Acres. I have some big names in
the works for the panels too. I hope to release them soon. Take care,

Don't feel too bad Chuck, it isn't your fault, it's just that I'm

I put the movie on today for my 15 yr old granddaughter to watch, and she
really liked it. She thought that Robert Hutton was cute! I think she missed
the whole point. I did notice one thing though, at one point in this 1944
film someone says that Joan was at a radio rehearsal.

A couple of people have emailed me with info on where to find her radio shows

Any Chuck keep on pluggin' and maybe you'll get that hug one of these days.

which a recent posting here claimed.

As most FOTR Convention attendees know, Edgar Farr Russell III has also
won this script contest twice. His radio show "A Kiss From a Little Old

I have the Jack Benny-Isaac Stern violin "duet" on a VHS tape somewhere in my
collection, but darned if I can find it now when I need it! But it is
available, and might be found with a Google search, etc.

There is a nice series put out in the 1990s by MCA Universal called "The Jack
Benny Show". Clever, what? I am not certain whether the Stern combo is
included in this series. Sorry about that.

Each MCA tape had "2 Classic Episodes" with different guest stars. A bit of
a rip-off at the original price of $[removed] each for about 50 minutes of
program, but one could perhaps find them on eBay or discount sellers. They
are very good quality. One of my tapes has Lucille Ball as guest (Arte
Johnson appears as well). The second show has George Burns. There is a
little booklet in the packet which listed six shows. When issued (apparently
1994) one could purchase directly from MCA/Universal Home Video.

They are now just Universal Studios Video. One can browse their catalog
online at:

The usual disclaimer - Other than enjoying their productions, I have and had
no connection with Universal, MCA, Jack Benny, or Lucille Ball. Drat! Guess
I took too long "thinking it over!"
