Our re-enactment group has been asked to do a western for the National

Well, there's the classic GUNSMOKE holiday show.

women than men in the show.

But it misses on this count, I [removed]

What a great list this is! I received several
responses to my request for a link to the site that
has newspaper listings of old radio programs. Thank
you one and all for your help. For anyone who needs
this link, here it is:

I just read where 25 new recordings have been added to the National
Recording Registry. The ones of interest to this digest are:

--The first trans-Atlantic broadcast (March 14, 1925)

--Fibber's Closet Opens for the First Time, "Fibber McGee and Molly" radio
program (March 4, 1940)

--Fiorello LaGuardia reading the comics (1945)

There are others, and maybe some are directly related to radio, but I do not
know enough about them to be able to comment.

Among this year's entries are:

    * The first trans-Atlantic broadcast (March 14, 1925), a London
    orchestral performance

If there were truly justice in the world, OTR people would be among the
various groups that should be exempt from such problems. That would be truth
justice and the American way.

Good luck,

Subject: Hu's on first

This might have come up before on the Digest, but in listening to my
Milwaukee Brewers game on the radio last night I learned that there's a
player on the Los Angeles Dodgers this year by the name of Chin-lung Hu.
Could there be someone out there in the Dodgers' system by the name of Watt?
If so, then all they need to find is a guy named Isadore or Irving Donough
and we could have "Hu's on first, Watt's on second, and I. Donough's on
third." (A little research reveals that a John Costello played Major League
baseball in the early '90s. Wonder if he ever played on the same field with
the more famous Jim Abbott?)

Thanks to Hank Hinkel for confirming what I had suggested in the
previous digest that it was Pat Rispole (note correct spelling) that
had taped the Escape and Suspense broadcasts over WROW as well as
numerous sporting events. Hank also shed some light on what had became
of much of Pat's collection which I had long wondered about.

Thanks also to digester Stan Opdyke who contacted me offline and
provided additional information about the disposition of Pat's vast
collection of baseball game broadcasts which went to still another
collector after his death.
