Subject: Moylan Sisters
Last night at MWOTRC monthly meeting, a mature couple showed up and
joined our group. They had driven up to our meeting place in
Arlington, VA from their home in Fredericksburg, VA. Both were great
fans of the Moylan Sisters, the little girl singers who were on the
Blue Network from 1939 to 1944. When this couple was introduced to
our OTR club as new members last night, they sang (from memory) the
"Thrivo Dog Food" commercial song from the Moylan Sisters' radio show.
They have been searching for years for the lone surviving copy of
that show, which NBC recorded, along with many other shows, on that
historic date of 12-7-41, Pearl Harbor Day. I thought I had this in
my collection but I don't.
Any Digesters have a copy of this radio show?

The scripts for THE LINEUP reside in
American Radio Archives Collection
Thousand Oaks Library Thousand Oak, CA
A lot of the scripts are from the PPB Archives as most of the
written material and scripts for the CBS and other network shows were given
over to their radio collection.
What is most important is that PPB has a very long run of the radio series,
thought I do no know if it is complete.
PPB has been shut down for 4 years now and no one can enter. This seems it
will go on indefinitely until something is done to get rid of the PCB poisons.
This means that I can no longer do any research or help the archives in any
way.
I would have been happy to go through the discs and get the available dates
and email them to the OTR [removed]
Let's hope that the archives will be opened soon so research and data can be
retrieved for all those interested.
At least the PPB Board of Directors is searching for some way to solve this
terrible problem.

Thanks to Stewart Wright & Gay Carter for the heads up.
I have arranged for my local library to get the book from the Wayne State
Library for me.
Hopefully, the three weeks I will have it will provide all the necessary
information.
If not, there's a good chance that I will be able to go to the Thousand Oaks
library in February.

Subject: CHARLES CORREL INTERVIEW
Dear Amos 'N Andy fans:
Not sure if this may be of some value to anyone but I recently found an
interview on a reel-to-reel tape with Charles Correl titled,
"Garden Conversation with Charles Correl, where he talks about the old days
of the radio show. Recorded at his home in Beverly Hills, June, 1969."
I have not checked it for quality yet, nor have I transferred it to a
digital file but I plan to do so.
If anyone knows anything about this interview please let me know.
