If anyone wants to listen to RG Production's Halloween recreation of "The
Mercury Theater's DRACULA," you can now do so in a couple ways. First, if
you're in southeast Wisconsin or Lake County, IL, tune in to WLIP AM 1050 on
Sunday morning, Nov., 4 etween 7 and 11 [removed] If that doesn't work, log onto
our website and listen "on demand" [removed]
Comments from other Old Time Radio lovers such as yourself are valued, you
can contact me offline. We had a blast recreating this one, it was a real
"tour de force." We're especially proud of the fact that our sound effects
artists created ALL of the effects live. They had wind machines, sheet metal
thunder, gravel boxes with coconuts, belts for a whip, bells, real crates and
even a pumpkin with a stake! (The only recorded effect was the opening with
scary wind and bells). I know our organist George Wertke has been mentioned
before on this site, he's Kermyt's uncle! I want to say he did a terrific
job for this one, too. The music was an integral part of the story, as it
always is, but this one was particularly challenging.
We're proud of what we're doing in Wisconsin and hope you'll all get a chance
to listen! We're also happy to get to know Mark Higgins from MARE Club who
shares our enthusiasm for OTR.
