Subject: #OldRadio IRC Chat this Thursday Night!
A weekly [removed]
For the best in OTR Chat, join IRC (Internet Relay Chat), StarLink-IRC
Network, the channel name is #OldRadio. We meet Thursdays at 8 PM Eastern
and go on, and on! The oldest OTR Chat Channel, it has been in existence
over nine years, same time, same channel! Started by Lois Culver, widow
of actor Howard Culver, this is the place to be on Thursday night for
real-time OTR talk!
Our "regulars" include OTR actors, soundmen, collectors, listeners, and
others interested in enjoying OTR from points all over the world. Discussions
range from favorite shows to almost anything else under the sun (sometimes
it's hard for us to stay on-topic)...but even if it isn't always focused,
it's always a good time!
For more info, contact charlie@[removed]. We hope to see you there, this
week and every week!

Subject: Raised On Radio
Forgive me if someone has already written abou this before.
My wife gave me a book a couple of years back (because I love OTR) that she
found on Amazon entitled "Raised On Rado." I wsn't sure what to expect.
I began reading it last weekend and I have to admit that it's a pretty
interesting read. We all know so many of the stories related to the Golden
Age of Radio that, quite frankly, much of what I read seems to be warmed over
content said in the same way.
This book seems different, the author has a knack at weaving interesting
stories I hadn't heard before and portraying the background of the era in a
way that seems fresh and interesting.
I am only in the third chapter, but it seems like a worthwhile read.
Anyone else have this book?
Tom

Subject: FWD: Seeking information on OTR actor Al Daw
Folks;
Received this query in the ol' mailbox:
I don't know if any of your sources can help me. I'm looking for any old
time radio programs that credit my father, Albert Henry Daw. He sometimes
went by Al Daw; I'm not sure how he may have been credited back in the 1950s,
when he worked mainly in the NYC area. He was a singer/actor. Are there any
archives where the names of show actors are kept?
