Subject: Dinah Shore question

I have two copies of Dinah Shore Birds Eye Open House 44-11-16 with guest
Charles Laughton and I am curious about something.

My first copy of that program opens with the announcer saying "The
Dinah Shore Program", which would stand to reason to be the AFRS
program name. It then goes into the opening song. There is no close ID
b/c the file cuts off.

The second copy opens with the announcer saying "Birds Eye Frosted
Foods Birds Eye Open House starring Dinah Shore with her special guest
Charles Laughton." It then goes into the opening song. One would assume
this was the sponsored version, *however* at 28:29 the announcer
says "This is the Armed Forces Radio Network"

I have never heard a brand name kept in the name of the program on the
AFRS and am curious if anyone knows what is the situation with the
second program. Why 2 different openings? Why a brand name in the title
of an AFRS program?

In response to Jim Kitchen's inquiry about the Australian version of the
Fat Man, there is a log on the Australian Old Time Radio site:
