Subject: Veterinarians in old time radio
Hi all,
Got a question from someone who I cannot help. Wondered if anyone might
have some thoughts that I can back to her with. Here is her email to me:
Greetings! I am a veterinary student working on a research project about
veterinarians in children's programming and books, especially prior to 1970.
I've been looking on the internet for the appearances of vets in radio
programs like Little Orphan Annie, Lassie, and Jerry at the Circus, but I'd
love to hear from you if you know of programs in which there is a
veterinarian character or where a veterinarian makes an appearance, even
once. So far I've only been able to identify the recurring veterinarian on
the Lassie television show, but no luck with the radio genre. I'd appreciate
any suggestions you might have! Best wishes, Marta

Subject: Arch Obler's The Family Nagashi 1945
I am trying to get a copy of Arch Obler's 1945 radio program called The
Family Nagashi which is about a soldier returning home from the war in Europe
as his family also returning from the American concentration camp simply
because they looked like the enemy. This was based on facts. Greg Bell
usually plays it in the beginning of December. Thanks for your help. Arleen
[ADMINISTRIVIA: This episode from Arch Obler's Plays first heard September
27, 1945 is readily available on the Internet. But we will be listening to
it, along with an unsold situation comedy starring Diane Lynn and
friend-to-the-Digest Harry Bartell, on next week's SummersTime - tune in
Monday evening at 6:00pm EDT, 3:00pm in the west, with other airtimes
throughout the week at [removed] . Lots of other great
nostalgia on that channel, too.
Oh, [removed] commercial. ;) --cfs3]
