Subject: No respect

On the website [removed], Time magazine writer Richard Zoglin has
written a piece on each of the "15 Best Game Show Hosts." They include
prevailing stalwarts Jack Barry, Johnny Carson, Dick Clark, Anne Robinson
and more.

So much for still more outdated has-beens like Jack Bailey, Ralph Edwards,
Arthur Godfrey, Bob Hawk, Warren Hull, John Reed King, Art Linkletter,
Walter O'Keefe, Bert Parks and lots of others.

Zoglin puts down TV legends like Bud Collyer and John Charles Daly, too
(both, incidentally, carryovers from that other medium). I'm guessing
Zoglin is less than middle-aged. Does anybody in the media give thanks for
what radio did anymore?

Folks;

By request, I've posted the first episode in the series, "It's Higgins,
Sir," a summer replacement series for Bob Hope's Pepsodent program starring
Harry McNaughton, Vinton Hayworth, and our good friend Pat Hosley, to the
podcast on the Nostalgic Rumblings blog. If you've subscribed to the podcast
feed, you'll receive the file automagically the next time your podcast client
takes a look; you may also download the file directly, or listen to the show
via streaming audio directly through your web browser!

Audio quality is pretty good, but if you can help by providing
better-quality copies of the shows (analog or digital) so I can get them all
posted over the next few weeks, I'd appreciate it. Just drop me a line if you
can help.

And I'm still cheerfully accepting requests for the [removed] drop me
a note.
