Subject: OTR And Young'uns

A week or so back, Bradley Cobb wrote the Digest about his homemade OTR with
his four kids - I gave a listen, and enjoyed it thoroughly (especially the ad
for "Spatula City", that STILL has me [removed] "Bob And Ray"!).

I think that this is a great way to keep the OTR artform [removed] all,
how can storytelling ever "go out of style"?!?

So, even though I was going to keep it confined to my immediate family, I'm
posting a show that my nieces and nephew (and I) did, an episode of "The
Strange Doctor Weird". It's here at the Theatre Of The Mindless blog:

[removed]

We've done several gigs aimed at introducing youngsters to Old Time Radio.
Some local progressive teachers have discovered that they can include reading
and writing, speech, acting, history, media studies and more in classes
utilizing OTR. Shoot, you could even include SHOP in that list, as someone
has to MAKE the wind machines, and the half-doors, and the thunder sheets.
And the students have great FUN with it!

Old Time Radio never dies, it just changes formats!
