Subject: Audio histories of Broadcasters of Old Time Radio
Hi,
This Sunday we will interview Dick Bertel and Bob Scherago of WTIC
for Same Time, Same Station.
John and I are beginning a rather daunting task. We want to compile
a list as well as a audio history and memories of those who have
broadcast radio shows on the AM, FM dials. The list is long and
unfortunately, some of those who did broadcast are now gone, like Jim
harmon who aired shows on a semi-regular basis on KPFK in Los Angeles
in the mid-sixties.
The history in Los Angeles is very rich with people like Jerry
Haendiges, Joe Siegel, Kevin Stern, Harvey Tow, Bobb Lynes and later
Barbara Watkins, Woody Schultz, John and Larry gassman, Dan Haefele,
Randy Skretvedt, and so on.
The list is equally long in many other cities and states.
So if you broadcast radio shows and would like to come on and talk
about it, please e-mail me.
We are now trying to compile a list of those who aired shows on a
regular basis over the last 40 years.
I would love to at some point find a place to put these interviews
for everyone's enjoyment.
We already have tape on some people and are looking to add to the
audio archives of Old Time Radio Broadcasters.
