Yes Jack, that is correct. I have both the half-hour unedited version of May
6th and the 15 minute edited version aired on the 7th.

Jack French is correct according to the National Archives: Portions of
the broadcast were aired for the first time the following day. The
original disks on which the recording were made were donated to the
National Archives by WLS, Chicago's Prairie Farmer radio [removed]

There is a link on the page to a flash version of the archive which
contains the longest recording I have heard.

They were actually employees of WLS in Chicago.
While the discs were flown back to Chicago the same day, I
don't believe Morrison and Nielsen made the trip.
