A. Joseph Ross said, "I've never hear any recordings of them, but they must
have been ...effective on radio."

BTW, FDR was elected in 1932, and took office in March, 1933. His was the

March to January.

Subject: Corliss Archer
X-Converted-To-Plain-Text: from multipart/alternative
X-Converted-To-Plain-Text: Alternative section used was text/plain

I've had several people tell me about an OTR program titled (I hope
I get this right) "Corliss Archer". They've had nothing but good things to
say
about it, but I've got a few questions related to it:

What type program was it (a comedy, serial drama, mystery, etc.)?

Are there any copies of it available for purchase?

When was it on the air? Did it have a long run or was it on for just a
short
while?

       Who sponsored it?

Any help with this will be appreciated. They made it sound worthy of
a
listen and have described it with phrases such as 'good acting', good
writing',
etc. I'd just like a few other facts and opinions before checking it out
myself.

BTW, are there any copies of "Ma Perkins" out there? I believe it was
a
serial, if I'm not mistaken, and I try to shy away from those because I never
seem to get one entire storyline when I order them.

As always,

Kenneth Clarke

Subject: "Quiet Please" please?

Mike wants to know if Ron Barnett is sitting on some uncirculated
Quiet Please shows. Ron is not. But he does have an audio copy of
every episode in circulation. I'm not sure if he has any scripts for
the missing shows.

Recently, Maury Cagle of MWOTRC came up with some QP scripts of those
programs of which no audio copies exist. He picked what he thought
was the best and our club did a full re-creation of that show, with
live sound effects.

If OTR researcher Ron Barnett has copies of *every*
Quiet Please episode, I'd also be interested. I've been
trying to find "100,000 Diameters" and "Meeting at
Ticonderoga" but according to [removed], there
are no known copies.
Thanks for any info you can provide.

If the trader (Ron Barnett) has "all" the "Quiet, Please" episodes
broadcast, he indeed has a treasure! According to the log by Randy
Eidmiller and Chris Lambesis, revised edition 2000, 15 of the shows exist
only in script form. There are a few that are half shows, and some are in
such poor sound as to be unlistenable. In case you want the log (if it is
still in print), here is the citation:

Eidemiller, Randy
Quiet Please, one of radio's most thought provoking series. The
background and complete log of all 106 broadcasts with remembrances by Frank
Thomas, Jr. Revised edition 2000. Now containing all story lines.
Researched and prepared by Randy Eidmiller and Chris Lambesis. (Published
by the authors, July 2000.)
