Subject: Affairs of Peter Salem

I have a partial Affairs of Peter Salem, just about the first half, titled
"Horrible Hitch." Santos Ortega, Jack Grimes.
Have had it for a long time so I suppose many others also have it. Don't
know the date (1949?) but perhaps Ben Kibler would know.

1955 - Jack Benny signed off his last live network radio broadcast after
a run of 23 years. (His show continued in re-runs for a while longer -ed).

Somehow on these pages I was given the impression that network radio shows
were never re-run; that there was some solemn edict that any recordings were
to be destroyed immediately after the broadcast, and that re-runs were an
artifact of decadent television.

shocked.

From: Ronald Sayles Birth/Deaths entry I see:
05-20-1909 - Jerry Hausner - Cleveland, OH - d. 4-1-1993

This is my blurb page on Jerry submitted previously but once again for those
who missed it:
[removed]
I remember the last time I saw Jerry prior to his demise was in Encino, CA
where we both lived, at the one of the teller windows lines at the same bank
we used. I had just signed up for some sort of service, saw him behind me in
line. We were the only ones in line so we talked a while and then I suggested
to him that he sign up for the same service given it was to our banking
advantage. He took my advice.

I've encountered something rather unusual while listening to OTR twice over
the past week. First, in the Bob Hope Show from 5-15-45 the actual show itself
ends about 20 minutes in and Skinnay Ennis just plays for the next ten
minutes. Then, in the Jack Benny Show that was broadcast just 5 days later
on
[removed] thing! The program proper ends 20 minutes [removed] the last
ten
minutes is taken up by music from Phi Harris and his orchestra. Anyone know
why this was? Did Hope and Benny have to catch a plane/train? Does this
happen
 in other shows?

Subject: Dark Fantasy/Scott Bishop

I am really enjoying the Dark Fantasy series, which came out of Oklahoma
City and was written by a man named Scott Bishop. Does anyone know anything
about Scott Bishop, including whether he wrote any books that are currently
in-print? I would also like to know more about Dark Fantasy, as there is no
entry in my Dunning for it.

Thanks,

Mark
