Subject: #OldRadio IRC Chat this Thursday Night!
A weekly [removed]
For the best in OTR Chat, join IRC (Internet Relay Chat), StarLink-IRC
Network, the channel name is #OldRadio. We meet Thursdays at 8 PM Eastern
and go on, and on! The oldest OTR Chat Channel, it has been in existence
over nine years, same time, same channel! Started by Lois Culver, widow
of actor Howard Culver, this is the place to be on Thursday night for
real-time OTR talk!
Our "regulars" include OTR actors, soundmen, collectors, listeners, and
others interested in enjoying OTR from points all over the world. Discussions
range from favorite shows to almost anything else under the sun (sometimes
it's hard for us to stay on-topic)...but even if it isn't always focused,
it's always a good time!
For more info, contact charlie@[removed]. We hope to see you there, this
week and every week!

That is new to me and I was wondering if there is anyone out there that
knows anything about Chico and his orchestra.
Michael, while I don't have a history of the band, I can tell you there
is a clip or possibly a full show of Chico Marx and his Orch on the
Fitch Bandwagon about 1943.

Subject: Jack Benny Month on Those Were The Days!
For the 32nd consecutive year, February is Jack Benny Month on "Those Were
the Days," the weekly showcase devoted to the Golden Age of Radio. All month
long we'll tune in to Jack and a bevy of guest stars, including (this week)
George Burns, Edward G. Robinson (in a rare broadcast from 1933!), Orson
Welles, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Colman. Plus, we'll hear Jack as a guest on
Orson Welles' "Campbell Playhouse" in George S. Kaufman's "June Moon."
The fun begins this Saturday at 1:00 pm on WDCB-FM ([removed] for you Chicagoans;
[removed] for everyone else). Hope to hear you there!

Subject: Morman Tabernacle Choir program on CBS
Interesting to read about the Sunday morning program on CBS radio featuring
the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I was about to send in a comment on this show.
I had forgotten about it, but had heard it recently. It airs on KNX-1070 in
Los Angeles from 5:30-6:00 [removed] each Sunday. I enjoyed a program they did
in November for Veteran's Day and a couple of the December Christmas
programs. I noticed that the announcer said that the program was in its
81st year on the air on CBS and had originated with KSL-1160 in Salt Lake
City. Is this now the oldest continuous program still on network radio?
