Subject: Remembering Shirley Mitchell on Those Were the
 Days

Shirley Mitchell was a great actress and a good friend to fans of the Golden
Age of Radio. This Saturday, "Those Were the Days" remembers Shirley Mitchell
with an afternoon of great sounds from the Golden Age of Radio, including
"Suspense," "Fibber McGee and Molly," "Let George Do It," and not one but two
episodes of "The Great Gildersleeve"! We'll also share Radio Hall of Famer
Chuck Schaden's 1984 conversation with Shirley Mitchell as she looks back on
her amazing radio career. Join us Saturday, April 5, at 1:00 pm CST on WDCB
([removed] FM in Chicagoland, [removed] everywhere). Details are in the Spring 2014
Nostalgia Digest ([removed])

Subject: Alistair Cooke, more

Folks;

Added the BBC Radio 4 Extra presentation of Alistair Cooke - A Celebration
to the Digest's Copy folder. Again, much thanks to Graeme Stevenson for
keeping an eye on the programming over on his side of the Atlantic!

While I was poking around the BBC, I discovered frequent FOTR guest and
Katie's buddy Simon Jones, along with a bunch of his old friends, performed
live excerpts of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy last Saturday evening
in a special presentation of BBC Radio 4. You'll find that there, too.

         Charlie
