Frank McGurn ponders:
Is there an expert on the Merry-Go-Round
in OTR land ?
Not many experts on the topic I'm aware of, Frank, and that includes me.
But you can glean a whole lot of facts I discovered about the Manhattan
Merry-Go-Round in a chapter titled "The Hummert Musicales," pages 228-244 in
my volume "Music Radio"

Bob Burchett is once again funding the
Cincinnati Old-Time Radio Convention. This will mark the 24th year and it is
his intention to see it all the way to 25. This year's dates are April 7 to

Martin, those dates should have been May not April At least that is

the AFRS also carried this show for most of its years. I have 1 which I
have never listened to or transferred. Like Frank, I didn't care for it
much. Early 40s, 1 song is "This is the story of a starry night" based
on the Tchaikovsky Symphony #6.
