Subject: Dec issue RADIO RECALL

The full color version of RADIO RECALL in PDF format was emailed to
subscribers today. For those subscribers who elected to receive the B
& W hard-cover version, via USPO, they will be mailed in mid-December.

This month's issue leads off with an in-depth analysis of the 36th
and last FOTR Convention, as compiled by a neutral party, a retired
librarian who attended from Raleigh, NC. Mark Anderson's observations
will both inform and delight you. In another remarkable piece, John
Abbott (the prominent author of the Johnny Dollar trilogy) has
detailed the history of the classic BBC production of Paul Temple,
with plenty of biographical information on his creator, Francis Henry
Durbridge.

Two top-flight reviewers evaluate OTR items to put under your
Christmas tree. Prodigious author and collector, David Siegel,
reviews Ryan Ellett's new book, "Encyclopedia of Black Radio in the
[removed] 1921-1955." Former government broadcaster, Maury Cagle, reviews
the 2012 Radio Spirits Calendar ("This Day in Old-Time Radio")

No holiday issue would be complete without the Cinnamon Bear, so this
issue covers the history of the program, the unfortunate demise of
his fan club in 1991, and complete details on the "Cinnamon Bear
Cruise" which currently takes place each December, departing out of
Portland, OR.

Our Editor reveals his favorite Christmas radio programs, leading off
with his top choice: "A Cowboy Christmas Carol" from the 1953 Six
Shooter series. Puzzlemaster Adam Roslewwicz offers a challenging
puzzle based on the titles of eleven soap operas.

All this, plus "Short-Takes," Letters to the Editor, and details on
upcoming OTR events.
