Kudos to Ian Grieve for fighting the good fight regarding ITMA. It really is
a shame the BBC representative didn't have the archiving instinct--his
indifference has cost listeners all over the world some valuable information.
Regarding a personal recollection of ITMA, I am the son of an English mother
and an American father. I ran across some shows about ten years ago. My mom
was dying of cancer and soothed by liquid morphine. She was coherent most of
the time but drifted occasionally. I asked her if she remembered ITMA. She
didn't seem to, but then, with a lopsided grin, she piped up, singing "It's
that man again, it's that man again!" I have loved that show ever since.
Thanks for the memory, Ian.
Best,
Steve
