Can anyone help my brother, Joe. Jay Hickerson
Steve Winick, who authored the article on "Leaving of Liverpool" and
Captain Patrick Tayleur in a recent Folklife Center News, has located online
on
the Post Radio Time Table that the Captain's appearance was on WJSV "We the
People" on Tuesday November 26, 1940. The Library of Congress does not seem
to have a copy of this program. Could you send a request to your network to
see if someone might have a recording of this broadcast!

Subject: Wine whine
A few years ago the subject of wine was discussed in the digest, that is
wines that sponsored OTR programs. My wife and I have been going through
a series of Suspense programs that are sponsored by Roma Wine. Does
anyone on the list remember what was concluded about Roma Wine. I seem
to remember that the experts thought it was a inexpensive, fortified
product but I don't remember. Also what happened to the Roma brand?
Thanks,
Roby McHone

Subject: Frederic Ziv Photo
Does anyone have a photo of Frederic W. Ziv from the 1950s or 1960s? He was
the radio syndication pioneer that did FAVORITE STORY, BOSTON BLACKIE, THE
CISCO KID, etc.
I and a co-author are seeking a photo of Ziv for an up-coming book ready to
go to the publisher but we can't seem to find one. We'll be more than glad to
give a complimentary copy of the book and photo credit in the book for the
use of a photo.
Contact me off-line. mmargrajr@[removed]
best,
Martin
