Subject: Other Names

		Hi,
I wish I had kept my list of "Other names"
So Barbara, if you still have yours, please send it along.
I also remember that Jeanne Bates was married to Lew Lansworth and
she sometimes used her married name on shows like "Have Gun, will travel".
I had forgotten about Parley's other alias.
I know there were others but I never wrote them down so will have to
go back and listen again to pick them out.

Subject: The first CBS news "roundup"

Folks;

First off, thanks to everyone who responded to my post yesterday!

I was sent a link to what appears to be, at least partially, the first CBS
news "roundup" program on March 18, 1938. This file is NOT complete, but it
does appear to be at least some of the [removed] have explained what I
discovered more completely on the blog, where I've podcasted the file:

[removed]

You can listen to the show direcly on the blog, or download the show for
your MP3 player to listen to later.

Also, thank you to those who have joined Minus through the link I gave
yesterday:

[removed]

If you haven't, and can take a minute to do so (they do not require
personal information, which I _really_ like), it'll increase the amount of
space I have to post OTR shows. I've added to my "dashboard" the Android APK
for any of you with Android devices who prefer to sideload instead of using
the Android Market, and there's a desk application you can download from
their main pages. I'm still learning how to use it, though, so don't be
surprised if I stumble a little while setting things up.

I should be posting a link to 80+ OTR news programs a little later this
week. Thanks again to everyone who responded!

         Charlie

Subject: Same actor, different name

"Our Gal Sunday" Barbara Watkins commented about prominent OTR actors such
as Vic Perrin or Parley Baerr sometimes plying their craft under assumed
names. Might I add another name? The late Walker Edmiston was one of the key
players on the latter-day programme "Adventures in Odyssey". produced by the
much maligned Focus on the Family. Under the name "Ed Walker," Edmiston
played Mayor Tom Riley and charlatan businessman Bart Rathbone. One storyline
had these two characters facing each other in a mayoral debate and Edmiston
was able to move easily back and forth in the two different voices as he was
essentially debating himself.

Yours in the ether,

Derek Tague
